The latest GPS receiver from Garmin sets new standards in air navigation.
The newest feature is the 3D-Vision which visualizes the landscape of the system stored terrain database. A 360° rotating perspective around the aircraft shows the surrounding terrain, obstacles and airfields which enhances situational awareness.
The color-defined danger points also contribute to the security.
The device can be controlled easily by the high-resolution capacitivel 7 "(17.8 cm diagonal) touch screen and pellucid menu items.
Optional the display can be used in portrait or landscape format.
The four basic buttons "Back", "Menu", "Direct-To" and "Nearest" to the fast and easy handling of the device are significantly.
Six other icons on the bottom of the screen can be saved as favorite symbols.
3D Vision and other flight data are presented smoothly and continuously thanks to the device's internal GPS that provides position updates at a rate of 5 times per second (5 Hz).
Other features: Smart Airspace, Show Airspace, logbook, track record, E6B calculator, weight & balance.
In addition the device has a virtual scratch pad and document viewer that can display digital manuals and checklists.
The Garmin aera 795 is shipped with the current Jeppesen Atlantic International Aviation Database and has a terrain shaded map with compulsory reporting points, IFR ( LO/HI enroute chart) and VFR map, terrain warning (visual and acoustic), terrain profile view, HSI display, Smart Airspace feature Nearest-function and an AC-U-KWIK International Airport Directory
Pilots have also the opportunity to choose for global AC-U-KWIK airport directory data.
Like its predecessor device the aera 795 can be expanded with the optional Jeppesen IFR Approach und Depature Charts.
